Frontline
Frontline flea treatment kills adult fleas and ticks on dogs and cats, the Frontline Plus range will also have some effect on the animals living spaces. Frontline Wormers are for the treatment of roundworm and tapeworm in dogs and cats.
Frontline is a flea and tick treatment for use on dogs and cats as well as puppies and kittens from eight weeks of age. Frontline Spot On should not be applied to puppies weighing under 2kg (approximately 4.4lbs) or kittens under 1kg (approximately 2.2lbs). Do not allow your pet to become very wet or bath them within 48 hours of applying the treatment. Frontline Spot On as a flea treatment is effective for up to 8 weeks in dogs and 5 weeks in cats. Frontline Spot as a tick treatment can work for up to 4 weeks in both dogs and cats. It is not a systemic product so it kills fleas and ticks by releasing from the sebaceous glands in the animals skin not by using the blood supply of the dog or cat.
Frontline Spot On works by overstimulating the flea which can make it more noticeable after the animal has been treated but this method of action has been mistaken by some pet owners as lack of efficacy. Frontline Spot On can be used all year round but when the environmental flea challenge is greater than usual can be reapplied every 4 weeks.
