DIRECTIONS FOR USE
To brush your pet, find a quiet time and location to sit down with your pet for grooming.
Before using a FURminator Professional Grooming Tool, perform a complete physical inspection of your pet. Look for sores, bruises and skin conditions, which may be concealed by the coat. If your pet has any of these conditions, seek treatment from a veterinarian before grooming.
Gently brush fur in an upward motion with the curved pins side of the FURminator Slicker Brush to loosen or remove mats and snarls. Once you have completely brushed the entire coat of your pet, flip the brush over to the straight pins to make a nice, smooth glossy finish. Be extra gentle near the belly and chest. To brush the tail, make a part down the middle and brush the fur out on either side.
Be gentle around sensitive areas like the belly, haunches, tail and ears. Always work in the direction that the fur grows.
WHEN SHOULD I USE THE FURMINATOR SLICKER BRUSH?
Your pet can be brushed any time, on both wet and dry fur. Brushing can be performed on its own or in conjunction with other products, such as the FURminator Shampoo. Brushing is also an important step to perform before using a FURminator deShedding Tool on your pet to remove tangles and matted hair.
HOW OFTEN AND HOW LONG SHOULD I USE THE BRUSH?
For best results, use the FURminator Slicker Brush daily for 5-10 minutes each session, though the actual time will vary depending on your pet's breed, the condition of their coat, and their thickness of the pet's individual coat. It may be necessary to use the Slicker Brush more frequently during heavy shedding seasons or if the pet has excessive tangles.
WHERE SHOULD I PERFORM THE GROOMING PROCESS?
Grooming your pet will loosen large amounts of loose hair and debris, so a location that is easy to clean, such as a tile floor indoors or an outdoor area, makes cleanup more convenient.
Most importantly, always choose a location where your pet feels comfortable and safe.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SLICKER BRUSH AND THE DUAL BRUSH?
The FURminator Dual Brush is a 2-in-1 brush with hard and soft bristles which grooms and finishes the coat. The hard bristles are durable metal bristles for detangling, removing debris and massaging the pet's skin, whereas the soft bristles are boar's hair bristles for smoothing and shining the topcoat. This brush is for all dogs and cats of all coat types.
