Veloxa Chewable Tablets for Dogs
Veloxa are a chewable worming tablet for dogs. Each tablet treats 10kg weight, these worming tablets are palatable, and can be disguised in food, or used as a treat for convenient worming. The worming tablet can be halved for smaller dogs or enabling accurate dosing. Half a tablet will treat 5kg bodyweight.
Composition
Each Veloxa chewable tablet contains:
- Febantel 150 mg
- Pyrantel 50 mg (corresponding to Pyrantel embonate 144 mg)
- Praziquantel 50 mg
Pharmaceutical Form
Chewable tablet. Brownish, oval, divisible chewable tablet. It can be divided into equal halves.

Target species
Dogs.
Indications for use
Broad-spectrum anthelmintic for treatment of mixed infections by the following roundworms and tapeworms in dogs and puppies:
- Ascarids: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina (adult and late immature forms).
- Hookworms: Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum (adults).
- Whipworms: Trichuris vulpis (adults).
- Tapeworms: Echinococcus spp., Taenia spp. and Dipylidium caninum (adult and immature forms).
Contraindications
Do not use in animals with a known hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or the excipients.
Special Warnings
Parasite resistance may develop with repeated use. Fleas serve as intermediate hosts for tapeworm – Dipylidium caninum. Control of fleas and other intermediate hosts is essential.
Special Precautions for Use
Tapeworm infestation is unlikely in pups under 6 weeks. Store tablets out of reach of animals. Dispose of excreta properly after treatment. In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical advice and show the package or label. This product is effective against Echinococcus spp.
Adverse Reactions
In very rare cases, transient, mild gastrointestinal signs (e.g. vomiting) may occur.
Use During Pregnancy and Lactation
Use during early pregnancy should be based on a benefit/risk assessment. Avoid during the first 4 weeks of pregnancy. Safe to use during lactation.
Dosage and Administration
For oral use only. 1 chewable tablet per 10 kg bodyweight. No starvation needed before or after treatment.
