Amount of active ingredient per 100 ml of solution: Formaldehyde 4.762g, Malachite green oxalate 90.0mg Areas of application: Tetra Pond MediFin provides a safe and effective treatment for the majority of pond fish diseases, and is active against: White Spot (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis), skin parasites, gill flukes, bacteria causing skin infections, fin rot, fungus, infectious wounds and external lesions, and biological water cloudiness. Use MediFin to treat fish showing symptoms of disease, and also to prevent secondary infections following physical injury or stress (e.g. after removing fish for pond maintenance). Contraindications and side effects: None known. The owner is requested to inform a veterinary surgeon or pharmacist of any newlydiscovered side effect. The specialist retailer or product manufacturer should also be informed of the side effects. Dosing instructions / method of application: Add 10ml to each 230 litres (50 gallons) of water. lt is important to start treatment as soon as possible, to ensure fish have the best chance of recovering. Tetra Pond AquaSafe can be used alongside MediFin to support the fish‘s protective mucous layer, which acts as a natural barrier against further infection. Estimating your pond volume A good estimate of your pond‘s volume can be obtained using the following formula: Metric Pond length x Average width x Average depth (in metres) = cubic metres Multiply by 1,000 to get the volume of the pond in litres Imperial 1 Pond length x Ave rage width x Average depth (in feet) = cubic feet Multiply by 6.25 to get the volume of the pond in gallons Example A pond of 3m x 2m x 0.75m = 4.5 cubic metres, or 4,500 litres A pond of 10ft x 6.5ft x 2.5ft = 150 cubic feet or 938 gallons Instructions for correct use: lf present, it is advisable to switch off the ultraviolet clarifier when using MediFin, to maximise its effectiveness. The use of MediFin, as with many other medicines, at water temperatures below 10 to 12°c is not recommended, due to the reduced activity of diseases and of the fish‘s immune system. As with all medicines, we recommend good aeration of the pond water during treatment through the use of fountains, waterfalls, airpumps etc. As most diseases are caused through poor waterquality, we strongly recommend testing the water with Tetra Pond water test kits, or seeking further advice from your aquatics outlet. Good water quality will prevent future problems, and increase the chance of recovery. Please follow these instructions carefully. When used as directed, Tetra Pond treatments will not harm animals drinking from, or bathing in the pond
