Strongid P Wormer for Horses & Donkeys
An broad spectrum wormer formulated for use in horses and donkeys to manage and address adult infestations caused by large and small strongyles, Oxyuris, Parascaris, and Anoplocephala perfoliata. This product demonstrates effectiveness even against small strongyle strains that have developed resistance to benzimidazole treatments
Key Information
Strongid is suitable for use in pregnant horses and lactating mares and foals from four weeks.
For Tapeworm use twice the usual dose. Eg if treating a 600kg horse then two tubes are required.
Resistance
Instances of pyrantel resistance have been documented in cyathostomes among horses, a phenomenon also prevalent in the United States and Canada. Consequently, the administration of this product should be guided by localised (regional or farm-specific) epidemiological data regarding nematode susceptibility. Additionally, it is advisable to follow recommendations aimed at curbing the continued development of anthelmintic resistance
Precautions
Special care must be taken when using the same oral doser for two animals. This practice should only be considered if both animals are in excellent health and either share the same environment and living conditions or are in direct contact with each other on the premises.
Dosage
One tube will treat a 600kg horse for redworm or double dose for tapeworm.
