Heptavac P Plus

Heptavac P Plus is a powerful solution for active sheep immunization, offering crucial support in managing clostridial diseases and pasteurellosis. This vaccine contains antigens from six distinct clostridial species and key serotypes of Mannheimia haemolytica and Pasteurella trehalosi, which are among the most significant disease-causing agents in sheep.

Presentation:

  • Form: Suspension for injection

Active Ingredients: Per ml:

  • Clostridium perfringens beta toxoid inducing ≥ 10 IU
  • Clostridium perfringens epsilon toxoid inducing ≥ 5 IU
  • Clostridium septicum toxoid inducing ≥ 2.5 IU
  • Clostridium tetani toxoid inducing ≥ 2.5 IU
  • Clostridium novyi toxoid inducing ≥ 3.5 IU
  • Clostridium chauvoei cells and equivalent toxoid inducing ≥ 0.5 guinea pig PD90

Target Species:

  • Sheep

Indications for Use:

  • Heptavac P Plus is designed for the active immunization of sheep, aiding in the control of lamb dysentery, pulpy kidney, struck, tetanus, braxy, blackleg, black disease, and clostridial metritis caused by various Clostridium types. It is effective against Cl. perfringens types B, C, and D, Cl. septicum, Cl. novyi, Cl. chauvoei, and Cl. tetani.
  • This vaccine is also suitable for controlling pneumonic pasteurellosis in sheep of all ages, from a minimum age of 3 weeks, and in the management of systemic pasteurellosis in weaned fattening and breeding sheep.
  • Heptavac P Plus can be administered to pregnant ewes to aid in controlling lamb dysentery, pulpy kidney, tetanus, and pasteurellosis in their offspring, provided the lambs receive sufficient immune colostrum during the first 1-2 days of life.
  • Replacement ewes (and rams) should receive two 2 ml doses, 4 to 6 weeks apart when joining the flock. An annual booster dose is necessary 4-6 weeks pre-lambing to maintain ewe immunity and provide ample antibodies to pass on to the lambs through colostrum.
