Alka Seltzer XS
For rapid relief of pain including migraine, headache, period pains, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat. Symptomatic relief of rheumatic pain, sciatica, lumbago, fibrositis, muscular aches and pains. Symptomatic relief of influenza, feverishness, feverish colds.
Suitable for adults and children over 16 years of age.

Directions
- Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before using this product.
- Alka-Seltzer XS must always be dissolved in a glass of water prior to oral administration.
- Adults, elderly and children aged 16 years and over: 2 tablets in half a glass of water.
- This dose may be repeated every 4 hours up to 4 doses in 24 hours but the dosage should not be continued for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor.
- Do not exceed the stated dose.
- Do not give to children under 16 years, unless specifically indicated (e.g. for Kawasaki's disease).
Hazards and Cautions
Do not take Alka Seltzer XS if you:
- Are allergic to aspirin or to any other ingredients
- Have a stomach or duodenal ulcer
- Have haemophilia or are pregnant or breast feeding
- Have severe heart, kidney or liver problems
Avoid if you are on a high dose of methotrexate, 15mg per week.
Speak to your doctor before taking Alka Seltzer if you:
- Suffer from Asthma
- Have a history of gastrointestinal disorders (regular stomach upsets)
- Have kidney or liver problems
Aspirin has also been associated with increased risk of Reye's Syndrome when given to children with a fever. For this reason the use of aspirin is not recommended in children under 16 years of age.
You should ask your doctor before taking aspirin if you are taking any other medicines including those for blood clots (thrombosis) such as warfarin or gout such as probenecid.

Do not store above 25°C.

Ingredients
Active ingredients: Aspirin (Acetylsalicylic acid) 324mg per tablet, Sodium hydrogen carbonate 1774mg per tablet, Citric acid 965mg per tablet.
Other ingredients: Povidone, Dimeticone, Calcium silicate, Docusate sodium, Sodium benzoate (E211), Sodium saccharin, natural and artificial Lemon flavour and natural and artificial Lime flavour.
